The Atlas Foundation is a global children’s charity foundation that brings positive change to some of the most vulnerable children on earth.  Atlas is committed to offering long term support to these children across 5 continents, in the way of education, girl empowerment, nutrition and wellbeing, using the wonderful platform of rugby, to uplift all.

Atlas was founded by Jason Leonard OBE (former England World Cup rugby player) in 2014. It operates with a collective of international rugby champions lending their immense support. Atlas SA Ambassador, John Smit, is joined by legendary SA rugby players who give up their time and good name so generously for the Foundation.

In 2019 we officially launched the Atlas All Schools programme in South Africa. This proven model uplifts our communities and empowers our dedicated Atlas coaches & players, within the culture and values of rugby, to improve the opportunities for our young charges. We work in communities beset by poverty, crime, drugs and alcohol around the country and strive to uplift through our tenets of education, girl empowerment, nutrition and rugby coaching. Underpinning all, we instil pride and dignity, which truly has the power to change the narrative.  Atlas South Africa is a beneficiary of the Old School Group and the 10s and enjoys a longstanding partnership.
